When we asked Grant what he wanted on his birthday cake he said "GRANT." We tried several things like, Toy Story, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman - no just "GRANT" and "4." Easy enough. We took our Grant theme and decorated with everything saying GRANT on it. He loved it! I suppose it is appropriate because this year he learned how to spell and write his name. So it fits.

We found this cool car at our neighborhood garage sale. Loves me a good deal! Grant is a terrible driver. Maybe it isn't such a great idea to put a 4 year old behind the wheel!

Good to be normal

Grant was retested in his Speech Class last night. He was last tested in October. He has gone from a severe delay (2nd percentile) to the border of normal/mild delay (16th percentile.) He has been exited from the Speech program and no longer requires Speech Therapy. Happy dance time!! :)

This huge jump is a result of the surgery he had last December. It is nice to see that we made the right decision with that. Of course this makes the Jordan School District's program look really good that they were able to make such big improvements in such a short period of time. We won't tell anyone the real reason.

Beware of doors

As we were getting the kids ready for bed a game of tickle Dad started with Lindsey & Grant. Dad was sitting on the floor in the hall and L & G would tickle him and then run back into their room. On the run back into the room Grant ran into the door of his closet that was left open. As we tried to get the bleeding to stop we realized that he was going to need stitches. So I call up Heidi and tell her I'm bringing my girls by and we head off to the Instacare. We had to have both of us go so that one of us could hold the cloth to his head and the other drive. He had to have 4 staples put in.

The other day as we were driving by Riverton hospital, Grant says - "Look, there's my hospital!" Yeah, we have been at that hospital way to much lately. Grant had to go back and get a follow up chest xray for his pneumonia. Luckily we were able to get the staples out and the chest xray done on the same trip to the hospital.

Good news is that we have now met our $4800 deductible on our Health Insurance and not to far from our Maximum Out of Pocket. Bad news is coming up with the money to cover the deductible. Gotta love medical expenses.
