This is the place

The girls are all studying ancestors and had differing projects that they had to do. We decided to take the kids up to "This is the Place State Park" and get some photos to use in their projects. It turns out that there is nothing open during the winter up there. We were able to go on a train ride around the park and walk to a few statues. We are going to have to go back in the summer when all of the houses are open. It looks like it will be a fun place for them to see.

Snow Time

Tamsen, Tosh & Live came and played in the snow with us. Tosh & Liv don't remember ever playing in the snow. It was a new experience for them. This was the first time we actually got enough snow to play in this winter. We had a lot of fun with them here. We finally got to use our snowman making kit that we got for Christmas from the Hopkinsons.

Gingerbread Houses

A lady that Aaron works with gave him 3 gingerbread houses for the kids. I grabbed another one at IKEA and we had a messy good time putting them together for family night.

I lost all my pictures from my camera, but we had a great time after Christmas destroying the houses.

Sports Camp

I signed Grant up for a 3 month Sports Camp at the Rec Center. Each month they were able to learn a new sport.

First up was T-Ball. Grant really enjoyed T-Ball. He is a lefty so this is our first experience trying to figure out how he plays sports. Sometimes when he ended up with a right handed glove he would catch the ball take the glove off and throw it with his left. Grant and Dad both got baseball mitts for Christmas. Hopefully they will be able to go out back and play catch sometimes.

Basketball was his least favorite sport. Maybe it was because the ball was half the size of him. It was really hard for him to be able to dribble a ball that is as big as he is.

This shot ended up hitting the rim and smacking him it the face. He really didn't like basketball after that.

Football was another favorite of his. His buddy Luke came to the month. Watching these little boys playing sports was so fun for me as a mom. We'll have to do it again.

Cassidy's Baptism

We are very proud of Cassidy and the choice she has made to be baptized. It was a special day for her and our family. We had planned a luncheon to be at our clubhouse, but it was such a snowy day that we decided to move the lunch to our house were we would have more room to spread out. All of our family was able to attend. Even Tom & Mine were in town from Denver and able to participate. The absence of my dad was really evident. These special moments make him not being here even harder. But I know that his spirit was there and that he is also very proud of his granddaughter.

Pumpkin Carving

We don't usually carve pumpkins at Halloween. Now I remember why that is - gross! And what a mess. Guess it is all about the fun and family time - maybe? We did have fun, so I guess the mess was worth it. Poor Cassidy was sick, so she didn't get to participate much. She did try gutting hers for a little while, then decided she would let us finish for her. How sweet.

Fall Break - Bosa Donuts

Rob made sure we were introduced to Bosa Donuts while we were there. They were so good, that they get their own post. Just looking at this picture makes me crave one of those Buttermilk Balls. So Good!

Fall Break - Kitch Cousins

We had dinner with Aaron's cousins on the Kitch side. We don't get to see these guys very often so it was fun to catch up and eat some pizza.

Fall Break/Halloween

We went to the Peterson's Ward Halloween party. It was fun to meet some of their friends and eat some yummy food.

I didn't take any pictures of the kids on Halloween, so this is as good as it gets. Grant wore his Batman PJ's as a costume, because his furry dinosaur costume wasn't really appropriate for the 95 degree weather. I never took a picture of him in the costume - but he looked cute.

For Halloween this year we had Whitney aka Cleopatra, Cassidy the Snow Princess, Lindsey the Angel, and Grant the dinosaur and Batman.
