Lake Tahoe - in the Lake

We went over to Lake Tahoe with Grandma & Grandpa Ashby, Katie, Ben, Kiara and Boston. It was a welcome vacation after moving the weekend before. It was very nice to be able to sit down and relax after some very stressful weeks. The only bad part was the drive. About 9-10 hours each way. Our kids did great, considering. I wish the lake were closer so that we could visit often.

Lindsey Preschool Program

Small Wonder's Preschool always does a great end of the year program. I have seen the program three times now, but every time I am amazed at how many songs the kids learn during the school year. Congrats Lindsey - it's off to Kindergarten now!

Soccer Mania

We signed Cassidy and Lindsey up for soccer this year. They were able to play on the same team. (One of the benefits of having kids 17 months apart!) Uncle Laine was coaching Kaylin's team, so we decided to put the girls on the team. It was quite the experience. The first game I laughed my head off. I had my eyes open to a whole new world. A world, that I don't know if we want to be a part of. Cassidy did really well. Lindsey on the other hand enjoyed the scenery. :P

Kindergarten Celebration

Congratulations Cassidy! She had her Kindergarten graduation today. We are very proud of her and all the work she has done this year. It is hard to believe the school year is over. Summer here we come!

2nd Grade Spelling Bee Champion

Congratulations Whitney! She won the second grade spelling bee contest this year!

She was also awarded the "Hardest Worker at Providence Hall."

She also was the keyboard champion for the entire school.

We are very proud of you Whitney. Keep up the hard work!

First Day of Preschool

You would think I would be writing about the last day of preschool this time of year. Grant just started an articulation preschool through the school district. They can start going to the class as soon as they turn three. They follow D track, so he will go until July and then start up again . . . (I have no idea when, I'm not used to this track stuff. I really need to find a calendar somewhere. ) He was so proud to be going to school. Finally it was his turn to be dropped off at school. I thought he wouldn't like me leaving him, but he didn't care. Poor mom was the only one having a hard time. The class is just once a week for 45 minutes. In the fall he will start going to another preschool in addition to this one.

Happy Birthday Grant!

I can't believe my baby is three years old now. He is growing up so fast. We made him special Mickey Mouse pancakes for his birthday.

Dad made him a Mickey Mouse cake.

Elmo used to rule the house, but he is no more, now it is all Mickey Mouse. Well at least it was until his birthday when we were invaded by a Space Ranger and now Buzz seems to be taking over. . . .

Spring Break - Glenwood and Cove Fort

Glenwood is where my mom is from. It is a small town just east of Richfield. We were able to visit my grandpa who is now in a care center in Richfield. He is almost 96 years old. It was very difficult for me to see him. He didn't know who I was and was very confused as to why I was in his room. Even though he didn't know me, I am grateful that I was able to see him again.

This is the house my mom grew up in. We were able to go inside and let the kids look around. They have been here before, but they don't remember any of it.
On the way home we went to Cove Fort. From lds.org: "A safe haven built in 1867, Cove Fort was constructed at the halfway point between Fillmore and Beaver, Utah. In the 1860s the 60-mile trip between these two towns required two days of travel. Cove Fort was the perfect place to stop for the night to find safety, shelter, fresh water, and plenty of feed for livestock."

We were met at our car by a missionary who took us on a tour. It is very interesting to see all the rooms and different things. Our family really enjoyed this tour. It makes you appreciate the nice comforts that we have today.
